An ROV or Underwater Drones underwater operational time depends on several factors, including the weight of the vehicle and the conditions you're working it in. But the most critical factor is the amount of power or underwater battery capacity you have. If you want to run your ROV for extended periods, you'll need a topside power supply console or a good set of underwater batteries and a reliable charger.

Extra Underwater Batteries for Extended Use
Most ROV or Underwater Drones are designed for a specific load or size and weight, so increasing your operational dive time with a larger batteries is often not possible. However, when you carry extra subsea batteries, you can get your ROV or Underwater Drone back in the water quickly after depleting your charge. Intelligent ROV Batteries and Chargers
Some ROV’s need batteries with unique features that let you view their internal statistics in real time. Intelligent ROV batteries can communicate their charge capacity and estimated remaining dive time. Intelligent batteries also regulate the power output to ensure your ROV receives a steady energy flow to keep it stable as its power wanes.

Multi-Battery Chargers
If you have only one battery for your drone, you can get away with a single battery charger. But if you're carrying multiple batteries, you should consider a charger that can handle numerous battery packs at once.
When you’ll do most of your charging at home before you head out for a flight, you can use a multi-battery charging hub to prep all your batteries at once. You may also want to consider a ruggedized charge case that can withstand the elements for charging in the field.

Lithium-Ion and Lithium-Polymer Batteries
Almost all ROV or Underwater Drones batteries use lithium-ion or lithium-polymer for their power capacity and output. ROV’s with larger payloads will typically require a lithium-ion battery pack, because those batteries supply enhanced power density. By contrast, smaller underwater drones may require a lithium-polymer (LiPo) battery for their lower profile and lighter weight.
If you run multiple ROV’s with different battery types, look for a multi-chemistry charger that supports your specific brand of batteries.

You can also find high-capacity batteries for underwater drones, though their heavier weight often means you’ll get more operational time from two smaller, lighter subsea batteries.

Blue Robotics – Underwater Battery LI-4S-15.6Ah: The Lithium-ion Battery 14.8V, 15.6Ah is a high-capacity custom battery pack made from 18650 lithium-ion cells designed for use in the BlueROV2, and fits perfectly inside a 3″ Watertight Enclosure! This new white version uses Molicel P26A cells.

Blue Robotics – Underwater Battery LI-4S-18Ah: The Lithium-ion Battery 14.8V, 18Ah, 266.4 Wh is a high-capacity custom ROV battery pack made from high quality 18650 lithium-ion cells designed for use in the BlueROV2, and fits perfectly inside a 3″ Watertight Enclosure!

Blue Robotics - H6 PRO Lithium Battery Charger: This charger is designed to safely charge all Blue Robotics batteries. It supports 4S (14.8 V) and 6S* (22.2 V) lithium-ion and lithium polymer batteries of at least 10,000 mAh in capacity. The charger has a fixed 10 A charge current, ideal for batteries such as our Lithium-ion Battery (14.8V, 15.6Ah) or other 4S or 6S lithium batteries with capacities of 10,000 mAh or more.

QYSEA Underwater Drone Batteries:

ry durable and adopts a removable design. it has 4 hours of continuous battery life (depending on operating conditions), with a quick charging mode that can charge up to 70% in one hour.

QYSEA - Battery 156Wh - The 156Wh subsea battery capsule has a large amount of power. It is very durable and adopts a removable design. it has 6 hours of continuous battery life (depending on operating conditions), with a quick charging mode that can charge up to 70% in one hour.

QYSEA - Battery 388Wh – The 388Wh underwater battery capsule has a large amount of power. It is very durable and adopts a removable design. it has 8 hours of continuous battery life (depending on operating conditions), with a quick charging mode that can charge up to 70% in one hour.
